Rees Broome, a highly regarded firm approaching its 50th
anniversary, with approximately 50 lawyers and 90 staff in three
offices, headquartered in Tysons VA, is looking for an experienced
Executive Director. The position reports directly to the
firm’s Executive Committee, with significant responsibility,
authority and autonomy. Duties range from day to day management of
finance, HR, marketing, facilities and IT to strategic issues of
growth, attorney and staff compensation and competitive marketplace
positioning. The firm “personality” is collegial, warm
and engaging, while stressing the intelligence and
commitment of its people, many of who spend their careers at Rees Broome.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of 8 or more years’ experience as a #1 at a smaller firm and/or a #2 at a larger firm, with demonstrable working knowledge of finance, HR, marketing, facilities and IT; first‐tier communication skills, with both staff and attorneys; a solid track record of effectively developing, mentoring and managing people at all levels; and preferably experience analyzing and implementing strategic growth plans, such as mergers. Merger experience and experience with space buildouts and moves will be invaluable attributes.
