Education Session: Security Training: Shadow AI, Holiday Scams, & Best Practices

This event is Zoom only. This event is open to Capital Chapter members, other ALA members, and prospective members.

Heinan Landa and Frank Schipani of Optimal Networks will deliver a virtual security awareness training session that explores emerging trends in the threat landscape, seasonal scams to avoid, and the latest cybersecurity best practices for law firms.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Shadow AI, a factor in 1 of every 5 data breaches.
  • AI social engineering, a factor in 1 of every 6 breaches.
  • AiTM attacks, a tactic that bypasses MFA.
  • Zero trust, an increasingly popular security strategy

Attendees will walk away with practical knowledge and strategies that will make it easier to keep their firms secure and running smoothly.

Speakers

Heinan Landa is the Founder & CEO of Optimal Networks, past ABACLE course instructor, and author of The Modern Law Firm: How to Thrive in an Era of Rapid Technological Change. With Master's degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins and an MBA from Wharton, Heinan is uniquely positioned to approach technology from a business perspective.  

Frank Schipani is an experienced technology strategist and law firm leader with 23 years spent in the legal industry. As Director of IT and Operations of Three Crowns he was responsible for four offices across four countries. His greatest strength is building consensus around ideas and helping organizations turn goals into reality.
