Job Description:
A mid- size Washington, DC office of a large prominent law firm seeks an Office Administrator to effectively manage the operations of the firm. These responsibilities encompass oversight of all non- attorney personnel of the firm, providing guidance and direction to the supervisors and staff of human resources, secretarial, information systems, word processing, accounting, office services, records, library, associate recruitment and training. Reporting directly to the managing partner and collaborating with the partners, the Office Administrator will also be involved with space planning, renovation, design and lease issues. The position also entails monitoring limited portions of the capital and expense budget for the office as well as formulating and implementing office policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to lead and the skills to effectively communicate, negotiate and cultivate an esprit de corps. Requirements for the position include a bachelors degree, a masters is desired, and 10 or more years of progressive management experience, demonstrating a working knowledge of personnel functions, compensation, employment laws, relevant legislative matters, and human resource information systems in a law firm and/or professional environment.
