After careful consideration by the ALA Capital Chapter Executive Committee, we are pleased to announce that the Capital Connection monthly newsletter will now be released on a quarterly basis beginning in October 2022. Onward, the newsletter will be released in February, May, August, and November of each year. This change is intended to improve our communication within the Chapter and how we circulate information among our Business Partner (BPs) and members.
Our BPs are in support of this change and our hope is to re-engage our members by providing them with resourceful links, useful information, and further highlight the great and amazing things our BPs are accomplishing in our industry. Since its inception, the purpose of the newsletter is to provide timely and relevant articles of interest to our members, share business activities from our BPs and Committee chairs, and provide information about upcoming educational and other events.
In the coming weeks, we will provide additional communication on our new timeline and share how we expect to incorporate these changes with our BPs and Committee chairs. We welcome all questions, suggestions, and/or feedback.
In addition, we are placing a focus on our social media platforms to further highlight and provide timely information. Our newsletter provides exclusivity, which is limited to our BPs and members only. Social media platforms offer visibility that a newsletter may not necessarily provide. We encourage our BPs to utilize their platforms to further engage with their audience. We intend to boost our engagement and use our social media platforms to highlight events from not only our BPs and Committee chairs, but also news and events, hot topics, industry trends/talking points, and weekend events as it pertains to the Capital Chapter.
