N Street Village, founded in 1972, supports women in Washington, D.C. experiencing homelessness by offering a broad spectrum of services, housing, and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. They partner with women to achieve stability and make meaningful gains in their housing, income, employment, mental health, physical health, and addiction recovery goals.
In the 16 years that ALA members have supported the Village, they have grown significantly. Now nearing their 50th anniversary, N Street Village serves nearly 2,000 women each year. Recently, they opened 3 new sites to ensure that every woman who arrives at their doors seeking a community of hope is met with the opportunity to start the next chapter in her journey.
